Mary Kandiuk is the Visual Arts, Design, Theatre and Dance Librarian for York University Libraries where she is responsible for collections, liaison and information literacy. She holds a Master of Arts in English and a Master of Library Science from the University of Toronto. She is the author of two bibliographies of secondary criticism relating to Canadian literature published by Scarecrow Press and co-author of Digital Image Collections and Services (ARL Spec Kit, 2013). She is the editor of the collection Archives and Special Collections as Sites of Contestation published by Library Juice Press in 2020 and co-editor of the collection In Solidarity: Academic Librarian Labour Activism and Union Participation in Canada published by Library Juice Press in 2014. She is the recipient of the Canadian Association of University Teachers Academic Librarians' Distinguished Service Award and has served as Editor of the Innovations in Practice Section for Partnership: The Canadian Journal of Library and Information Practice and Research and as a Peer Mentor for the Canadian Association of Research Libraries Librarians' Research Institute. She is a founding member of the Canadian Association of Professional Academic Librarians (CAPAL) / L'Association canadienne des bibliothécaires académiques professionnels (ACBAP), a national membership association representing the interests of professional academic librarians in Canada. Her current area of research includes Canadian artists' books.
